Professional Dialogue in Cape Town!

Professional Dialogue in Cape Town! One-day seminar with Peter Garrett

Friday, 29th Nov 2019

Old Mutual House, Bishops Court, Cape Town.

Don’t miss this opportunity

Peter Garrett is a pioneer in the field of Dialogue, having initiated a worldwide movement back in 1984 with David Bohm. He founded the international consulting firm Dialogue Associates in 2003 and, in collaboration with his business partner Jane Ball and close business colleagues from Europe and North America, he founded the international Academy of Professional Dialogue in 2015.

This is an exciting opportunity both for those already using dialogue in their work, and for anyone who would like to learn more about this way of working to be with Peter and to benefit from his experience.

He will share aspects of his 35-year journey with Dialogue, his close friendship with highly respected physicist David Bohm in the 1980’s and early 1990’s, his work in a variety of environments including international corporate business, maximum security prisons and political forums related to the United Nations.

What we plan to do...

DIALOGIC SKILLS AND PRACTICES

We will have a chance to learn some of the core essential skills and practices of dialogue and experiment working in a dialogic way in coaching pairs, small groups, and in a circle dialogue.

WE WILL EXPLORE:

  • Different modes of talking and thinking together
  • Building a container for dialogue
  • Key concepts in developing your dialogic practice
  • The four core Dialogic Practices explored and expanded
  • Reflection in action, and self perception
  • A different way of working

There will be an opportunity to participate in a whole group dialogue about communities, organisations and society - and the relevance of dialogic practices to our future well-being.

Co-creating the future together...

TOWARDS THE END OF OUR DAY WE WILL EXPLORE:

The vision, purpose and activities of the international Academy of Professional Dialogue and ways in which individuals and organisations can participate and partner with the Academy.

Opportunities for training to become an accredited Professional Dialogue Practitioner: Peter will walk us through the Academy’s practitioner development framework for training, consulting and large systems change.

How to become an accredited dialogic organisation:
This includes train the trainer courses internal to the organisation.
