Welcome to our fifth Culture Dialogue
Following the journey that took us from Dialogues for learning about Online Dialogue, we engaged in the realization that the online world and its acceptance as the “new normal” had enabled connection with colleagues from very different geographies and, mainly, widely varied cultures.
Consequently, this year we are exploring the impact of culture in our worldviews, and how the differences may influence our dialogical exchange. Our journey of awareness on the subject had us starting with the understanding of what the concept of culture means for each of us. Our successive monthly Dialogues allowed us to further dive into what we perceive as “outside” culture, the one we see on daily life and customs in our varied geographical surroundings, followed by how we remember and identify our own” internal” culture, the one we grew up in since childhood, and what of it we carry and constitutes us to this day. The next Dialogue was about how we perceive the interaction between our own inner culture and the outside culture, and its potential influence in our Dialogical perspectives and attitudes.
We are now inviting you to join us next Tuesday July the 12th at 4.00 pm UK time to explore and gain further awareness of how we may be influenced in our beliefs in accordance to the subcultures we may be inhabiting in the different groups of reference we feel part of.
This process and journey is helping us to discover the paradox of understanding what makes us diverse, while at the same time raising our awareness of belonging to the whole, in its multifaceted integrity.
We look forward to seeing you next Tuesday 12th. and add to the richness of the group
Kind Regards
Thomas Köttner and Peter Garrett
